Saudi Arabian Airlines is the national carrier of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, being the largest in the Middle-East and one of the largest in the world. The airline serves 47 international destinations and domestic spanning four continents, backed up with new fleet which is most technologically advanced in service anywhere in the world enabling us to carry over 15 million passengers.

Saudia uses the latest information technology with system that links every facet of our day to day operations. From reservations to in-flight services, from maintenance to flight operations, even to keep track of each piece of baggage.

Every year Saudia Carries over 200 million kilograms of cargo world-wide, which is more than any other airlines in the Middle-East. Our dedicated cargo fleet includes the latest nose-loading B747 freighters and MD-11 which covers destinations round the world. Our increased capacity is only a part of massive investment Saudia automated cargo network (SCAN) is one of the most advanced systems in the world.

Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh was linked by Saudia-by Air, on 04 April 1980 with twice weekly super DC-8 flights. Not long after the beginning, it was found the available capacity on the new route was not enough. So, in 1982 the frequency remaining the same the equipment was upgraded to wide-body Tristar L-1011. In couple of years time the capacity proved further in-adequate. In 1985, the equipment was again up-graded, this time to Jumbo B747. The constant growth of traffic between the two brotherly countries-Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh kept growing at a healthy pace and accordingly to further augment the capacity additional weekly flights were introduced from time to time. By the year 1998, Saudia in Dhaka was operating on a daily basis. Currently and keeping in line with the constant traffic growth, SV is operating 11 passenger flights a week all by B747 to/from Dhaka and KSA.

Apart from the scheduled services, during almost all Haj seasons in the past, the airline has operated a large number of extra flights to transport pilgrims from Bangladesh. Yet, another remarkable service rendered by the airline and also highly admired by one and all.

Along-with, the growth witnessed in passenger traffic, Saudia has done exceptionally well in Cargo Operation in Bangladesh as well. From July 2003, the airline has launched its once a week freighter service from Dhaka to Brussels via Riyadh. This service goes upto twice a week in line with market requirement. The introduction of the long awaited freighter service has been very widely welcomed by the Bangladeshi exporters and freight forwarders which in turn is assisting the Bangladesh exporters in keeping their export commitments.
